Lagom-java-maven-chirper-example fails with No implementation for com.lightbend.lagom.javadsl.server.LagomServiceRouter was bound

I am starting with Lagom and having some difficulties running the chirper example. Upon executing with mvn lagom:runAll, I get the following error: Unable to provision, see the following errors:

  1. No implementation for com.lightbend.lagom.javadsl.server.LagomServiceRouter was bound.

I am running with:
java version “1.8.0_181”
Apache Maven 3.5.4

I have just cloned the git repo… I also tried to run from different branches with the same error.

Does anyone have any idea on how to fix this (the Hello application ran fine).

The error occurs since the front-end module is using the lagom-javadsl-server dependency, while it should should use the lagom-javadsl-client, due to being only the client that is consuming services.

I’ve create the PR that should fix this issue in the chirper example, you can check it here
