Playframework - Ebean

Hello,
I read somewhere that Play is going to discontinue ebean. Is that true ? I am building an application with play 2.8.8 and can i use ebean ?
What is the best method to set the thread-pool-executor ? Is it to be sent for each entity or for per database ? Is there any optimum value for pool size and throughput ?

When I use sbt version 1.5.3 with ebean, there are compilation errors while sbt with 1.3.13 works.

I am using Java and postgres as the backend. Can some one throw more light ?

Thanks in advance.

I’ve read the same thing. What’s the replacement ORM for Play Framework? JPA?

Yes, works fine for me.

Just be sure you pick the exact Ebean plug-in version that matches the Framework version:
https://github.com/playframework/play-ebean#releases

Note: I couldn’t get Play 2.8.8 to build with Ebean plug-in 6.1.0, so sticking with 6.0.0 for now.

addSbtPlugin("com.typesafe.sbt" % "sbt-play-ebean" % "6.0.0")

Many Thanks for the reply. Yes saw that already. Also the point is, mismatch with sbt version.

There is no mention about sbt version. How are the dependencies get resolved ?

What sbt you are using ?

Thanks

What sbt you are using ?

I’m using version sbt 1.3.13, latest from the 1.3.x series.

Thank you very much

Where have you read about ebean being discontinued?

In one of pretty old google group discussions.

It has been removed from the Play documentation since v2.7 as well.

Well, the ebean support was moved out of Play and into a separate project (GitHub - playframework/play-ebean: Play Ebean module) already in Play 2.4, if that’s what you mean?
Apologies if I’m missing something.

Probably I have missed that too :).
Thanks for pointing it out.
